{Cover Crazy} 15: Endlessly by Kiersten White

Cover Crazy is hosted by Tawni at The Book WormsStop by and join in on the fun.
This week I am crazy about the cover for:
Endlessly by Kiersten White
The third book in the Paranormalcy trilogy.
The final chapter of Evie's adventures. Old friends, new ones, all wrapped up in impossible decisions. And some ball gowns. Because what's a life of normal and paranormal drama without a ball gown or two?
Purple! Its purple and it also matches the covers for Supernaturally and Paranormalcy! Did I mention it was purple?! For some reason Evie reminds me of Luna Lovegood on this cover, I guess it's just because of the blonde hair, I am a huge Luna Fan...anyways, back to the cover; I like the cover in its entirety and cannot wait to have it beside my copies of the first to books and gape at them all. I love how the sky is purple, yet still stormy and dramatic at the same time. Purple!

{Cover Crazy} 14: Until I Die by Amy Plum

Cover Crazy is hosted by Tawni at The Book WormsStop by and join in on the fun.
This week I am crazy about the cover for:
Until I Die by Amy Plum
Kate and Vincent have overcome the odds and at last they are together in Paris, the city of lights and love.
As their romance deepens there’s one question they can’t ignore: How are they supposed to be together if Vincent can’t resist sacrificing himself to save others? Although Vincent promises that he’ll do whatever it takes to lead a normal life with Kate, will that mean letting innocent people die? When a new and surprising enemy reveals itself, Kate realizes that even more may be at stake—and that Vincent’s immortality is in jeopardy.
In Die for Me, Amy Plum created a captivating paranormal mythology with immortal revenants and a lush Paris setting. Until I Die is poised to thrill readers with more heart-pounding suspense, spellbinding romance, and a cliff-hanger ending that will leave them desperate for the third and final novel in the series.
I think this whole cover just works extremely well and I especially like the swashes on this cover. They are very prominent and were done beautifully. If you look close enough at the cover you will see that they actually trail down the alley/road.

{Top Ten Tuesday} 8

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. It was created because of their love of lists.
This week's topic is:
Top Ten Eight Authors I Wish Would Write Another Book
(in no particular order)
1. Stephenie Meyer: I loved The Host and I would like to read the sequels; The Soul and The Seeker...well that is if they ever get written. The Host ended in such an interesting situation and I want to know what happens next so badly! I would also like to see Midnight Sun, sometime soon...hello Stephenie are you there?! Please...

2. Michelle Hodkin: I wish Michelle could bring out another book like now because The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer blew me away and I really, really want to read more from her.

3. Sarah Bennett Wealer: I absolutely loved Rival and I was so sad to find that she did not have any upcoming books for me to devour, she really wrote an addictive book about a topic I love and I am holding thumbs that she writes more books!

4. Melissa Marr: Okay, so I know Melissa has many books which are yet to be published and there have also been lots that have been published, the problem is that I have read everything that she has written and published and I am dying to read more about the Wicked Lovely characters, but even more so I wish she would write about Water Fey; which were brought up in a couple of books in the Wicked Lovely series, but they intrigue me so much!

5. Tahereh Mafi: okay, so Shatter Me...totally blew my mind and I loved the book so much and I really just need the next book to come out sooner or I wish she would write another book for me to read! *cries*

6. Lauren DeStefano: again, another one of my favorite authors who I need a book from! I love Lauren and her writing style, I'm allergic to cats but I'm willing to touch them and get sick if I had to break into her house to try and steal a manuscript with pretty sentences on it.

7. Cat Clarke: because Cat is awesome! Yes, she is extremely awesome and her puppy; Griffin, is adorable and should also write a book!

8. Brenna Yovanoff: Brenna has awesome stories to tell and although I have yet to read The Space Between, I bet whole-heartedly that I will want to read more from her once I have finished The Space Between.

{Blog Tour} Thin Air by Lynn Seresin

Welcome to our part of the stop on the Thin Air Blog Tour.  We were asked to participate in a tour for the book by The Magic Attic.  You guys sure are in for a treat today as we have an excerpt from the book!
Excerpt:

“Is everything alright?” I asked, as we settled down on the quilt.

“Couldn’t be better.” Daniel leaned forward and tossed a couple of twigs into the flames. His face was somber in the golden glow. “It’s just that we haven’t discussed the…sleeping arrangements.” He gave me a meaningful look. “I thought you might have some concern about that.”

I frowned. “I don’t understand. We brought sleeping bags, didn’t we?”

Daniel’s laughter surprised and perplexed me. “That’s not what I meant, Alice.”

“What, then? Are you worried the tent might not be large enough? I wouldn’t mind sleeping by the fire, if that’s the case.”

“You’re kidding me, right?” He was staring at me as though he wasn’t sure whether to be amused or annoyed. “I’m not talking about sleeping, Alice. Not literally, anyway.”

“Well, what then?”

I could tell I had strained Daniel’s incredulity to the breaking point. A bemused smile played on his lips as he slowly formed his next words. “I’m talking about sex.”

“Oh, I see.”

I hoped the rosy glow of the fire would hide my blush. I had been so excited about returning to the Adirondacks I hadn’t even considered anything beyond it, especially since Daniel and I had done nothing more than kiss up until then.

He cleared his throat. “It’s just that I don’t want you to fEel pressured,” he began, searching for the right words. “And I’ll understand if you want to keep everything the way it’s been—I mean, just what we’ve been doing, so far. But,” he suddenly looked hopeful, “it’s totally fine if you want to do more. Together. With me, I mean.”

“I’m not sure what you’re saying, Daniel,” I confessed.

He cradled my cheek and smiled. “I guess what I’m trying to say is, being eighteen can mean different things to different people, sexually speaking.” He paused to organize his thoughts. “I want to make love with you, Alice, but I’ll understand if that’s something you don’t feel ready to do right now. The important thing is that you feel safe and comfortable with me.”

Even as an elemental, I had never coupled with a sylph, not for lack of desire, but because I hadn’t met one to whom I wished to give my heart. Daniel already possessed my soul.
Prizes!
Yes you can win prizes! All you have to do is find all the letters which have been placed in certain posts along the way of the tour! Once you have found all the letters see what you can spell and enter here:

{Review} Blood Magic by Tessa Gratton

Release Date: 24 May 2011
Publisher: DOUBLEDAY
Age Group: Young Adult
Format: Paperback
Pages: 416
Author: Tessa Gratton
Rating: 5 Books
Buy the Book: Amazon
Draw a circle ... place a dead leaf in the center ... sprinkle some salt ... recite a little Latin ... add a drop of blood ...

Maybe that last part isn't exactly simple. Yet somehow it feels right to Silla Kennicott. And nothing in her life has felt remotely right since her parents' horrific deaths. She's willing to do anything to uncover the truth about her family—even try a few spells from the mysterious book that arrived on her doorstep ... and spill some blood.

The book isn't the only recent arrival in Silla's life. There's Nick Pardee, the new guy next door who may have seen Silla casting a spell. She's not sure what he saw and is afraid to find out. But as they spend more time together, Silla realizes this may not be Nick's first encounter with Blood Magic. Brought together by a combination of fate and chemistry, Silla and Nick can't deny their attraction. And they can't ignore the dark presence lurking nearby—waiting to reclaim the book and all its power.

Tessa Gratton's intoxicating first novel will keep pulses racing, minds reeling, and pages turning right up to the very last drop of blood.
 My Thoughts:

I had heard great things about this book and I was actually shocked when the book turned out to be way better than I had originally thought it would be. It blew me away, yet had my glued to every word on every single page!

I know for a fact that Tessa Gratton and Brenna Yovanoff are friends and to anyone who would like to know; I am in fact in love with Brenna Yovanoff's writing and I am oh so glad to say that Tessa gives Brenna a run for her money. I loved that Brenna showed Tessa how the setting can also be seen as a character and how big a role it actually plays. I love, love, love dark and delicious books(my term for these kinds of books) and I loved every moment of this book due to the setting making it even more creepy.

Silla and Nick were amazingly well thought out characters and I absolutely loved reading from both of their perspectives. You know a book is really great when you enjoy reading from both sides of the story without getting annoyed. I can not explain to you how wonderful these characters were! I will however try- well on the one hand you get a girl; Silla who is a little wacked in the brain(totally awesome) and you can't help but love her and then you get Nick; who is a jerk yet not like any other jerk you have read about because he is not always such a jerk, his thoughts may reflect this but he is just a really fun character to read about.

Blood Magic. That is ultimately what this book revolves around; creating magic with your blood and a few other things, but the thing I loved about this book was the fact that it was not about what species the characters were or what mystical powers they possessed, but rather yet normal people who discover creepy things and are not 'special' or 'gifted'. They simply are NORMAL people.

This book is absolutely amazing and if you have not gathered this yet, then I will say it a little more clearly: I LOVE THIS BOOK!

Tessa; a fantastic debut that had me on the edge of my seat and kept me constantly guessing. Your writing is simply beautiful and even more so addictive and that is why this book is being rated 5 stars.

{Waiting on Wednesday} 9: SLIDE by Jill Hathaway

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted over at Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
 SLIDE by Jill Hathaway
Vee Bell is certain of one irrefutable truth—her sister’s friend Sophie didn’t kill herself. She was murdered.

Vee knows this because she was there. Everyone believes Vee is narcoleptic, but she doesn’t actually fall asleep during these episodes: When she passes out, she slides into somebody else’s mind and experiences the world through that person’s eyes. She’s slid into her sister as she cheated on a math test, into a teacher sneaking a drink before class. She learned the worst about a supposed “friend” when she slid into her during a school dance. But nothing could have prepared Vee for what happens one October night when she slides into the mind of someone holding a bloody knife, standing over Sophie’s slashed body.

Vee desperately wishes she could share her secret, but who would believe her? It sounds so crazy that she can’t bring herself to tell her best friend, Rollins, let alone the police. Even if she could confide in Rollins, he has been acting off lately, more distant, especially now that she’s been spending more time with Zane.

Enmeshed in a terrifying web of secrets, lies, and danger and with no one to turn to, Vee must find a way to unmask the killer before he or she strikes again.

This week I am crazy about the cover for:
Everneath by Brodi Ashton
Last spring, Nikki Beckett vanished, sucked into an underworld known as the Everneath, where immortals Feed on the emotions of despairing humans. Now she's returned- to her old life, her family, her friends- before being banished back to the underworld... this time forever.

Nikki longs to spend these months reconnecting with her boyfriend, Jack, the one person she loves more than anything. But there's a problem: Cole, the smoldering immortal who first enticed her to the Everneath, has followed Nikki to the mortal world. And he'll do whatever it takes to bring her back- this time as his queen.

As Nikki's time grows short and her relationships begin slipping from her grasp, she's forced to make the hardest decision of her life: find a way to cheat fate and remain on the Surface with Jack or return to the Everneath and become Cole's...
I am only a fan red and black as a combo on some book covers but I find that I like this cover more and more the more I look at it(I don't think I have ever used the word more so many times in one sentence!) But I love this cover and how the dress fades in to the smoke and this cover was done extremely well over all!

{Cover Crazy} 4: The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

Cover Crazy is hosted by Tawni at The Book WormsStop by and join in on the fun.
This week I am crazy about the cover for:
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
Mara Dyer doesn't think life can get any stranger than waking up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there. It can.
She believes there must be more to the accident she can't remember that killed her friends and left her mysteriously unharmed.
There is.
She doesn't believe that after everything she's been through, she can fall in love.
She's wrong.

I love this cover so much and cannot wait to see what it will look like on a hardcover book. I like that the image is below the water and really creates an atmosphere of mystery for me personally and I love the font as it is simple yet intriguing!
