Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. It was created because of their love of lists.
This week's topic is:
Top Ten Books I'd Recommend to Someone Who Doesn't Read Paranormal Romance/Urban Fantasy
(in no particular order)
1. Paranormalcy by Kiersten White: I would recommend this books to those who do not read paranormal books because Kiersten White makes the paranormal fun and snarky with awesome characters who draw you in and make the book so enjoyable and addictive!
2. Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr: Melissa Marr creates this world which is intriguing and the characters are enticing and you want to get to know so much more about the fey and this world in which they live.
3. A Beautiful Dark by Jocelyn Davies: well Jocelyn's writing was just really fun to read and the story was so addictive and I think that fact that the paranormal aspect is mysterious throughout most of the book makes it easier to digest for those who do not often read a lot of paranormal books.
4. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare: well this book as well as the books that follow are stories that are exciting to read and you really do fall in love with the setting -- New York, and it's interesting to read about all these creatures which lurk in the city!
5. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer: because this is what sparked my love for the genre and I'm sure it might do something for some of you out there too! Don't hate...
6. Unearthly by Cynthia Hand: Cynthia's writing is addictive and the angels in this book are so intriguing!
7. A Touch Mortal by Leah Clifford: this book is was hard to put down and so much fun to read despite the darkness it may contain, maybe it would get you ready for books that are a little darker?
8. Need by Carrie Jones: well maybe if you're looking for some sort of paranormal creature that is not overdone, I would recommend Need because its about pixies, the take on the pixies is very interesting indeed.
9. Fallen by Lauren Kate: this book was about angels and extremely addictive, the paranormal aspects are very subtle in a way and makes the book an easy place for new readers to get started.
10. Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor: well this book is more like high fantasy...but the paranormal aspects are there and the writing is simply marvelous!

This week's topic is:
Top Ten Eight Authors I Wish Would Write Another Book
(in no particular order)
1. Stephenie Meyer: I loved The Host and I would like to read the sequels; The Soul and The Seeker...well that is if they ever get written. The Host ended in such an interesting situation and I want to know what happens next so badly! I would also like to see Midnight Sun, sometime soon...hello Stephenie are you there?! Please...

2. Michelle Hodkin: I wish Michelle could bring out another book like now because The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer blew me away and I really, really want to read more from her.

3. Sarah Bennett Wealer: I absolutely loved Rival and I was so sad to find that she did not have any upcoming books for me to devour, she really wrote an addictive book about a topic I love and I am holding thumbs that she writes more books!

4. Melissa Marr: Okay, so I know Melissa has many books which are yet to be published and there have also been lots that have been published, the problem is that I have read everything that she has written and published and I am dying to read more about the Wicked Lovely characters, but even more so I wish she would write about Water Fey; which were brought up in a couple of books in the Wicked Lovely series, but they intrigue me so much!

5. Tahereh Mafi: okay, so Shatter Me...totally blew my mind and I loved the book so much and I really just need the next book to come out sooner or I wish she would write another book for me to read! *cries*

6. Lauren DeStefano: again, another one of my favorite authors who I need a book from! I love Lauren and her writing style, I'm allergic to cats but I'm willing to touch them and get sick if I had to break into her house to try and steal a manuscript with pretty sentences on it.

7. Cat Clarke: because Cat is awesome! Yes, she is extremely awesome and her puppy; Griffin, is adorable and should also write a book!

8. Brenna Yovanoff: Brenna has awesome stories to tell and although I have yet to read The Space Between, I bet whole-heartedly that I will want to read more from her once I have finished The Space Between.

Top Ten Books I'm Excited to Read in 2012
(in no particular order)

  1. A Touch Morbid by Leah Clifford: A Touch Mortal was an awesome book and was definitely a book I would recommend to all, it is something very different and awesome. Leah has an amazing writing style and an even more kick-ass story to be told in this series. A Touch Morbid is really going to have me going insane when it hits shelves.
  2. Fever by Lauren DeStefano: well Lauren is one of my favorite authors as her style is so magical and poetic, it flows beautifully and quite frankly- it's addictive. I cannot wait to see what happens in Fever as the first book; Wither, had an interesting ending that changes everything in Rhine's world.
  3. Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver: I am excited to read this book because Delirium was the first Dystopian novel I had ever read and I found the world she had created to be riveting and it has a really interesting concept which is well applied.
  4. Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi: This will be Veronica's YA debut for 2012 and I am excited to read it as it just sounds so interesting and different, I also have to mention the fact that the cover is awesome and electrifying.
  5. Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood: the cover is amazing and who doesn't love books about witches?
6. Endlessly by Kiersten White: Kiersten's writing has me in stitches and it serious at times but is also great and so unique to me that I just loved Paranormalcy to bits! If you haven't read her books then please do so, also the covers are just brilliant.
7. Insurgent by Veronica Roth: Veronica had written a great debut; Divergent and I really want to see if Insurgent- which has an awesome cover by the way- will live up to the great standards which were set with Divergent.
8. Faery Tales and Nightmares by Melissa Marr: I couldn't leave my favorite author out of this list and I am so excited to read this compilation of short stories! It has a few stories in which I have already read, but most of all I am excited to read the story that sparked the entire Wicked Lovely world which I fell head over heels for. Melissa's writing is just brilliant.
9. Slide by Jill Hathaway: this book sounds very promising and I cannot wait to read it!
10. The Selection by Kiera Cass: The blurb of this book makes it out to be very similar to Wither by Lauren DeStefano which is a book that I love so much; but I'm hoping it will be different and a story/world of its own because the blurb sounds fantastic and I don't want this book to be a dissapointment, so far it sounds as though it is fantastic though!
