On My Wishlist is a fun weekly event hosted by Book Chick City
and runs every Saturday. It's where I list all the books I desperately
want but haven't actually bought yet. They can be old, new or
forthcoming.
Lost Voices by Sarah Porter
Release Date: 4 July 2011
When fourteen-year-old Luce is assaulted on the cliffs near an Alaskan village, she expects to die when she tumbles into the icy water below. Instead, she transforms into a mermaid. Luce is thrilled with her new life—until she discovers the catch.
Wither by Lauren De Stefano
Release Date: 22 March 2011
Obviously, something went terribly wrong. Genetic mutations have festered, reducing human longevity to twenty-five, even less for most women. To prevent extinction, young girls are kidnapped, mated in polygamous marriages with men eager to procreate. Sixteen-year-old Rhine Ellery, a recent victim of this breeding farm mentality, has vowed to break loose from its fetters; but finding allies and a safe way out is a challenge she can only hope she will survive. A dystopian fantasy series starter with wings.
Ooo, I've read Lost Voices - the first mermaid book for me and it was interesting. I've been hovering over buying Wither myself! :)
ReplyDeleteWither I have on my bookshelf, but still haven't read yet and Lost Voices sounds cool.

ReplyDeleteLost Voices sounds really good. I have yet to read a single story about a mermaid. I should definitely check this one out. Wither has been on my TBR list for quite a while now. It looks sooo good! Enjoy! :)
