To save her mother's life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters -- never mind that enter-ing the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.
As Clary uncovers more about her family's past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadow-hunter Sebastian. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadow-hunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he's willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her newfound powers to help save the Glass City -- whatever the cost?

My Thoughts:
Cassandra Clare knows how to draw a person in to her character’s world and she sure knows how to keep them there!
City of Glass was a great book and I am glad that there will be 3 more books in this series. The books are long but don’t let anything fool you. These books sure are great and you will enjoy all of the romance, humour, action, adventure and fantasy all rolled up in to one book.
Clare’s writing style will have you wanting more once the book ends and you will always be left wanting more with her books. I must admit however that these books are a lot for my mind to process, it is not because of the story line or plot, but rather all of the terminology that baffles me even after the third book.
All of Cassandra Clare’s characters are well thought out and dimensional. One thing that annoyed me though is that in the end Clary and Jace were not related (sorry for the spoiler) I mean I know that this was all part of Valentine’s plan but still I am not sure if the next 3 books will have anything really special between Jace and Clary because there is not that struggle for love that they must fight.
I have read reviews for City of Fallen Angels and everyone seems to think that CoFA is the best book yet in this series. I will have to wait and see...maybe there will be an interesting turn of events in the next set of books.
