Nightshade by Andrea Cremer Review

While other teenage girls daydream about boys, Calla Tor imagines ripping out her enemies’ throats. And she wouldn’t have it any other way. Calla was born a warrior and on her eighteenth-birthday she’ll become the alpha female of the next generation of Guardian wolves. But Calla’s predestined path veers off course the moment she saves the life of a wayward hiker, a boy her own age. This human boy’s secret will turn the young pack's world upside down and forever alter the outcome of the centuries-old Witches' War that surrounds them all.
Review:
Wow! What a compelling story. It was so thrilling and I loved it so much. I enjoy the love triangle of sorts and I liked how Andrea Cremer could write about a female character that was a leader and she was tough and strong and not week and reckless. Calla is a strong individual, I really liked that, it was an amazing story with characters that seemed realistic to me and I felt like they were not just written but lived. I could not rip myself away from the book. It was simply stunning. Some parts were hard to digest but you will fall in love with this book nonetheless. There are a handful of characters that you will fall for. I loved this book so much! Cannot wait for its sequel; Wolfsbane. Andrea Cremer you are one talented writer. There is not much I can say. I am speechless!

Mercy by Rebecca Lim Review

Mercy ′wakes′ on a school bus bound for Paradise, a small town where everyone knows everyone else′s business -- or thinks they do. But they will never guess the secret Mercy is hiding ....
As an angel exiled from heaven and doomed to return repeatedly to Earth, Mercy is never sure whose life and body she will share each time. And her mind is filled with the desperate pleas of her beloved, Luc, who can only approach her in her dreams.
In Paradise, Mercy meets Ryan, whose sister was kidnapped two years ago and is now presumed dead. When another girl disappears, Mercy and Ryan know they must act before time runs out. But a host of angels are out for Mercy′s blood and they won′t rest until they find her and punish her -- for a crime she doesn′t remember committing ...
An electric combination of angels, mystery and romance, Mercy is the first book in a major new series.

Review:
I loved how this book was written and I think that Rebecca Lim has a way of weaving words beautifully. However I do think that this was a bit of a pointless book seeing as there was no major event that took place. This could either make or break the book and its sequels, if people want to see what happens next then they would obviously buy the next book but if they think that the second book will be just like the first book then of course they will not buy it because they think that there will be no major events or climaxes so they will find that it is a pointless series of books and will not waste their time reading the books. I still think that the book has an interesting plot and concept, once again she writes wonderfully and that adds nicely to the book. I liked how a lot of the book revolves around singing and the school, it is very interesting. It is a new book and a new way of seeing an angel. Mercy is a wonderfully strange angel and Lim wrote these kinds of angels as something entirely different. These kinds of angels sort of reminded me of souls from Stephenie Meyer’s wonderfully written ‘the host’ Overall Mercy was an interesting read.

Here are the covers for the upcoming books in the series:
Personally I like Muse's cover the best! I just love how all of the titles have the vine-ish type things it makes them all the more beautiful.

Passion: Lauren Kate

Here is the cover for the third Fallen book. I am not so sure if I like it that much to be quite honest. The colors are very bright and I don't think that they tie in very well with the first two books. I don't like the fact that you can see Luce's face; it doesn't add that sense of dark mystery to the books any more for me. What do you think of it?

Here's what Lauren Kate; the author had to say about it:
"When I started writing Passion, I knew the series was bursting into some very exciting uncharted territory. This chase backwards through time, with each chapter set in a different country and a different century across five thousand years is undoubtedly the most romantic, most intense, most…passionate book I’ve ever written–and I think you’ll agree it has the cover to match. I love the dramatic bursts of color, the intensity and desolation of the backdrop, and of course, the dress. It’s also the perfect book to show just a hint of Luce’s face. I am counting down the days until I can share the book with you, but in the meantime, I hope you love the cover as much as I do."

Here are the other two covers:

I really loved the first two but I am not crazy about this third maybe the fourth will be better...

Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

When Tessa Gray travels to gloomy, scourge-ridden London in search of her brother Nate, she expects terrible weather, terrible food and similarly terrible dentistry. Things that she is not expecting, however, include: two nasty witchy-poo lassies with kidnapping tendencies; a suddenly revealed ability to shape-shift; a quick-to-violence vigilante group full of spunky men and plucky women; and a few mixed up baddies intent on Taking Over the World. Also a potential love triangle, because no good over-seas journey is complete without such a complicating factor. Yet, while a typical English lass would be aware the best approach to ensuring one’s longevity in these Victorian times is probably to sit back, nibble on a scone and, er, think of England,  Tessa’s inherent American verve sees her turn to buffy-esque butt-kicking ways instead, and she soon finds herself fighting the good fight against all manner of vamps, scoundrels, and wind-up armies exhibiting the chilling determination of biblical golems. But the battle between good and evil is not such an easy thing to fight, particularly when the two sides are so difficult to tease apart, and as things unfold in rather unexpected ways, Tessa finds herself struggling to make the right choices.

Review:
I found this a very thrilling book to read it was fun and action packed and too be really honest this is my first steam punk book but it was great. It is wonderful and makes me wish I were alive back then and living in the Institute. I loved how the climax sort of began in the middle of the book and then went on from there as there was another major climax near the end. I would recommend this to all of you who think that you will not like steam punk books at all and I am sure you will soon love Cassandra Clare for inventing this riveting world and you will soon learn to love it. In this book you will enter a world where things will boggle your mind. I am not exactly sure why but for some reason I think I am team Henry. I just love him to bits. I bet if he wrote books he would secretly be the Lemony Snicket of those times.

Darkest Mercy: Melissa Marr

Here are the first 8 chapters for you to read of Darkest Mercy by the wonderful Melissa Marr:

Evermore by Alyson Noel Review

Since a horrible accident claimed the lives of her family, Ever can see auras, hear people's thoughts, and know a person's entire life story by touch. Going out of her way to avoid human contact and suppress her abilities has branded her as a freak at her new high school—but everything changes when she meets Damen.
Damen Auguste is gorgeous, exotic and wealthy. He's the only one who can silence the noise and random energy in her head—wielding a magic so intense, it's as though he can see straight into her soul. As Ever is drawn deeper into his enticing world of secrets and mystery, she's left with more questions than answers. She has no idea just who he really is—or what he is. The only thing she knows to be true is she's falling deeply and helplessly in love with him.

Review:
Once you pick this book up you will refuse to put it down. It is addictive and it hooked me right from the very beginning! This was something new and fantastic for me to read and I am quite sad that I did not buy it the first time I saw it up on the books shelves. Instead I waited so long. Oh well on the up side at least now most of the series is out and I can read them continuously...and then wait from the last book in the Immortals series. I loved how Alyson Noel was able to create a book which has characters that were based her on earth, in a non-fictional area, but then still have another world; Summerland where the characters could escape to.  I love how she writes about character that seem realistic and beautiful and it shows just how amazingly well Alyson Noel can write as she shows us characters that seem real and really come alive. These characters had me intertwined in this wonderfully dark but yet light world of theirs and I did not want to stop being immersed in this story. I love how this was almost a quick read for me because it was so easy to read and the words flowed beautifully on the pages and in my mind. The story will grip you right from the beginning through to the end. There is not one dull moment or a moment that I thought was just okay, the book was perfectly weaved and to me it was almost perfect. It really is a captivating read that will leave you breathless.
